For those required to attend or receiving extra credit....

What will you gain from attending the event? Our aim is to familiarize you with the library and library services in a fun atmosphere. We want you to utilize the library throughout your time at Miami, and its always better to start early.

If you're wondering "Why (or What Is) The Silk Road..."... The university is in the second year of "Silk Road ExplorAsian", an endeavor to inform campus about the Silk Road (this is spearheaded by the Havighurst Center for Russian and Postsoviet Studies).

Learn more about Silk Road History by listening to this podcast. And bring the answer to this question to the event on Friday (to the Silk Road History station). You'll receive credit for attending the station and be one step closer to prizes.

What's the event going to be like?

Look for the big tent at the entrance to Brill. There you can learn more about the Silk Road, the University Libraries, and the Havighurst Center. You will also receive a passport and have the opportunity to visit other "posts" along our version of the Silk Road, including:

Silk Road History
Silk Road Images
Silk Road Tourism
Silk Road Food & Drink
Instructional Materials Center....and many more!

You will receive a passport upon arrival...to be eligible for prizes & extra credit, you will have to visit 6 stations and complete the assessment. You will submit your passport for verification at the "custom station" (also in the tent).
